Two Months In: The Highs, The Lows, and Everything In Between

Starting Everything Now has been a wild mix of strategy, gut instinct, and lessons I didn’t see coming. It’s exciting, yes—but also overwhelming, draining, and sometimes even paralyzing. The rush of launching something new can cloud your thinking, exhaust your energy, and block creativity when you need it most. Running a business isn’t just about doing the work—it’s about managing yourself through the chaos, keeping your focus sharp, and remembering why you started in the first place.
Here’s what’s standing out so far:
1. Not Everything is Urgent—Manage Your Energy, Not Just Your Time
Momentum is great, but burnout kills creativity. There’s this pressure to move fast, say yes to everything, and chase every opportunity—but not all of them are worth it. Some things can wait, and some things should wait. The best ideas come when you’re having fun and not running on fumes. Learning to pause, prioritize, and protect my energy has been just as important as any strategy I’ve built. And honestly? Keeping a workout routine, cutting back on alcohol, and eating better has been a game-changer. It’s easy to forget, but how you take care of yourself directly impacts how well you show up in business.
2. Adding Value Means Knowing When to Challenge
My obsession with adding value at every touchpoint means sometimes asking tough questions. Consulting is about making businesses better, and that doesn’t always mean agreeing with everything. Clients know their brand better than anyone, but sometimes fresh perspective is what they need most. Balancing expertise with diplomacy, knowing when to challenge, and when to step back has been one of the biggest lessons so far. Navigating this requires personal skills, leadership, and every bit of experience I’ve gathered over the years.
3. The Best Leads Come from the Most Random Places
That coffee meeting you almost canceled? The casual DM from an old colleague? Turns out, some of the best opportunities don’t come from strategy—they come from showing up, being present, and just doing the work. Passion is magnetic—when you genuinely love what you do, people notice, and doors open in ways you never expected.
4. Giving Back is the Best Growth Strategy
Want to build trust? Be useful. Share knowledge, make connections, help people—without expecting anything in return. It’s not just good karma, it’s how you build real, lasting relationships. The best marketing is doing great work and being a good human. People remember that.
5. It’s About the Business… But It’s Not
Yes, revenue matters. But numbers alone don’t build something meaningful. The best decisions come when they align with purpose, values, and impact—when they make sense, not just on paper, but in your gut. And above all? Say thank you. A lot. Gratitude builds trust, keeps you grounded, and reminds you why you started. The people who support you, believe in you, and push you forward matter more than any metric ever will.
6. The Joy of Being Back in the Work—and Staying Ahead
There’s something different about rolling up your sleeves and being deep in the work again—running photoshoots, writing copy, shaping creative direction, and crafting strategies from the ground up. But what’s been truly eye-opening? Connecting with the new generation of talent. Their perspective, creativity, and approach to marketing are completely different from what I’ve seen before, and I’m constantly learning from them. No corporate job will ever give you this kind of energy. Being surrounded by fresh ideas, working with people who challenge the status quo—it’s a reminder of why I love this industry in the first place. But more than that, it's a wake-up call to keep learning, stay ahead of trends, and embrace new ways of thinking. The world moves fast, and the best way to stay relevant is to never stop evolving.
Still Figuring It Out, and That’s Okay
Two months in, and I’m realizing that this isn’t a checklist, it’s a ride. Some days are crystal clear, others are a blur, but that’s part of it. Marketing—like business—is about movement, connection, and figuring it out as you go. Passion keeps it exciting, gratitude keeps it grounded, and if you’re not having fun, what’s the point? And through it all, staying healthy, moving your body, and keeping your mind clear makes all the difference. Everything Now is just getting started—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A Huge Thank You
Starting a business is one thing—having people believe in it from day one is another. To my incredible clients— thank you for trusting me and Everything Now to be part of your journey. Your support, collaboration, and vision have made these first two months more exciting and meaningful than I could have ever imagined.
